Data Ownership and Privacy
This is the single biggest difference. With OpenClawPro, your conversations, user data, memory layers, and API keys live on a server you control. If you cancel our service, the installation stays. Your data never leaves your infrastructure.
With MyClaw, your data lives on their shared infrastructure. Their privacy policy states they do not read customer conversations, but the technical reality is that they can. If MyClaw shuts down, goes through an acquisition, or changes their terms, your data goes with them.
For personal use, this may not matter much. For businesses handling customer data, medical information, or legal conversations, data residency is often a legal requirement, not a preference.
Security Approaches
OpenClawPro runs the 12-point security audit on every installation. You can verify each step yourself because you have root access. We configure the firewall, set up HTTPS, enable authentication, and harden SSH. On the Managed plan, we apply security patches within 24 hours of release.
MyClaw handles security on their end. You have to trust that they follow best practices. They do not publish security audit results or allow customers to verify the configuration. Their track record is clean so far, but you are taking it on faith.
