NemoClaw explained: NVIDIA's sandbox stack for agents
NemoClaw runs OpenClaw or Hermes inside NVIDIA OpenShell sandboxes with a network policy and operator approvals. What it is, what it is not, and who it suits.

NemoClaw is not a new agent. It is an open-source reference stack from NVIDIA, under the Apache-2.0 licence, that runs existing agents (OpenClaw by default, Hermes or LangChain Deep Agents Code) inside NVIDIA OpenShell sandboxes. NVIDIA describes it as an alpha project, maintained on a best-effort basis. Version v1.0.0-rc1 was the latest we checked on October 23, 2026.
What does NemoClaw add to an agent?
Isolation and control. According to its documentation, it provides guided onboarding, managed inference, a network policy, managed integrations, state persistence through OpenShell, and lifecycle commands through its own command-line tool. The network policy is the key part: outbound traffic follows rules, and new destinations go through an operator approval flow.
Who is it for?
Organisations that need an agent to reach only what it must: fiduciaries, law firms, health practices, any team handling confidential documents. In those settings, an agent that can open any web page or call any API is a risk, and an approval step for each new destination is worth the friction.
What is it not?
It is not a certification. Isolation reduces risk; it does not make an installation compliant with a standard by itself, and NVIDIA does not claim so. It is also not finished: alpha software changes often, so following releases closely is part of running it.
How does it compare with hardened OpenClaw?
A carefully hardened OpenClaw already removes the common ways in: no exposed gateway, a firewall, reviewed skills, a log. NemoClaw goes further on the network side with its policy and approvals, at the cost of more moving parts and an alpha label. For many teams, hardened OpenClaw in a closed configuration is enough; for the most sensitive work, NemoClaw is worth trying.
How we offer it
In early access, in the Business size only, on an isolated server with a closed list of skills and a full log. We say plainly that it is an alpha project before anyone orders. Details are on our NemoClaw page.
